The duo behind the label are designer Emily, who has the ideas and creative input and her business partner Lisa, who makes sure these ideas can be realised. Emily having completed an MA at Central St. Martins, launched the 'made in London' accessories brand with Lisa in 2006. Today it has grown into a global brand, selling worldwide. Their new independent shop was opened at the beginning of April 2009.
This jewel-like little shop showcases the label‟s exclusive 'boutique' collection and its younger sister, 'sweetheart' as well as selection of other 'made in London' accessories and vintage finds. Its location was all-important, in an old fashioned 'Mr Benn' Street, with its other small independent traders.
'Lie down I think I love you' was established as a backlash to the ubiquitous, mass-produced, designer rip-off. The company ethos was to design and produce a 'Made in London' brand using quality leathers, traditional craftsmanship and re-working vintage fabrics and objects.
A brand that offers a product unique to the wearer by using handpicked and colour-matched vintage scarves or powder compacts.Design ideals include English eccentricism, nostalgia and romance which have captured a loyal fan base coming from distances such as Japan just to visit the boutique.
